I and a few of my colleagues signed up to volunteer for the Singapore SPCA – an organization with a noble cause and self-less individuals. It was best known in the media for its attempts to save the RWS dolphins, which unfortunately has not been successful yet. (

While clearing the backyard of the SPCA, I found plenty of bees and small insects and spiders. Usually you would imagine spiders to be spinning their webs and waiting for insects to be trapped. However, this insect (I believe this is a spider – could be even a related species), just waited at the edge of the flower for its prey. I just had my workhorse 24-105mm lens and was delighted by the amount of detail it captured. (33 mm, f/5, 1/60, outdoor)
